West Palm Beach Homes for Sale
The county seat of Palm Beach County is West Palm Beach Florida. It's located adjacent to Palm Beach, which is a barrier island across the Lake Worth Lagoon. It's home to about 110,000 residents and is the oldest incorporated municipality in South Florida. It's located about 68 miles north of downtown Miami but still part of the Miami Metro area. West Palm Beach was settled in the 1870s and continues to thrive and grow, especially during the 1920s Florida land boom. The population of West Palm Beach quadrupled from 1920 to 1927 and it saw another boom in the 1950s due to the return of many soldiers and airmen who had served in the vicinity during the war. Since the 1990s, developments such as City Place and historical buildings have kept the city thriving and yet steeped in its rich history.
