Ocean Ridge is just east of Boynton Beach nestled between the Intercoastal Waterway and the Atlantic Ocean. It's located just north of the community of Briny Breezes and south of the Ocean Inlet Park. Home to less than 2000 residents, this small coastal community along US Highway A1A has a total area of just 2 mi.², most of it being water. It was originally founded as the Town of Boynton Beach back in 1931 but due to some disputes over beach area property taxes, people moved to this part of the town and in 1939 the name was officially changed the Ocean Ridge because Boynton Beach resembled too much of Daytona Beach and was messing with the mail system. About Ocean Ridge

Did you know that to County parks and a natural preserve area actually make up Ocean Ridge Russian Mark the Ocean Ridge Hammock Park is located within the town connected by a wooden walkway and observation platform to the beach? The Ocean Inlet Park features a jetty and Marina, a favorite for boaters and jet skiers needing access to the ocean or the Intercoastal Waterway. Fishing is also ideal here and because of the increased nursery and feeding habitat for fisheries and wildlife close by, it is popular for nature enthusiasts of all ages. The Ocean Ridge Natural Area is a popular site for walking, education, and enjoying the two-story observation platform.

There are two main access points to Ocean Ridge; one along E. Ocean Ave. and south of this at E. Woolbright Rd. connecting Highway one to Highway A1A. There are several country clubs and yacht clubs in Ocean Ridge as well as multiple condominiums, townhouse communities, and single-family homes.

Schools

Residents are part of the Palm Beach County school district and students are assigned to the Forest Park elementary school, the Congress Community middle school, and the Boynton Beach community high school.

Because the town is so small, most amenities and services such as shops, restaurants, markets, and such are available more towards Boynton Beach and actually on the peninsula itself. The area is primarily made up of residential communities and nature parks.
