Hillsboro Beach Homes for Sale

Hillsboro Beach is a long strip of land on the east side of the Intracoastal Waterway and Gulf Stream between Deerfield Beach and Pompano Beach. It's located just east of a Lighthouse Point and is accessible along Highway A1A. Also known as the Town of Hillsboro Beach, this area is home to just less than 2000 residents but is still part of the Miami Metro area. Just 20 minutes north of Fort Lauderdale on this small peninsula, the Town of Hillsboro Beach extends just over 3 miles from the Hillsboro Inlet to Deerfield Beach in the north. The area is filled with single-family oceanfront and waterfront homes and condominiums on both the Intracoastal side and the Oceanside. The majority of single-family homes are on the Oceanside on Hillsboro Mile.

About Hillsboro Beach

Hillsboro BeachThis is an upscale part of the Norse Broward County and the Greater Fort Lauderdale area. It was originally named after the Earl of Hillsborough who was granted the land from the King of England. The Hillsboro Lighthouse was constructed in 1907 and is one of the few remaining operable line houses in the country today. The town is fairly new being incorporated just in 1947. There is 1 Main Rd. that runs to the center of town and the widest part of the island is only 900 feet. There are waterfront homes on both sides so regardless of where you live, you're within walking distance to the beach. The north into the island is primarily condominiums and resorts and there are no restaurants or shops within the borders of Hillsboro Beach.

Markets, restaurants, cafés, and more are no more than 5 to 10 minutes away either North into Boca Raton and Deerfield or south into Pompano Beach. If you're looking for quiet, luxury, waterfront living, Hillsboro Beach might be exactly what you're looking for.

Schools

Residents are part of the Broward County school district and are assigned to the Cresthaven elementary school, the Crystal Lake Community middle school, and the Deerfield Beach high school. These schools are just a little over 2 miles from most homes in Hillsboro Beach.

Real Estate

Many lots actually stretch from the waterway to the ocean so several single-family home properties take up the entire width of the peninsula. This allows for unobstructed, and practically endless waterfront views both from the waterway and the ocean and beach. This is true luxury and homes start at about $2 million on up to $20 million or more. Will find two and three-story luxury estates, backyard swimming pools, private alfresco dining rooms, and luxury amenities abound. There are no homeowner association fees assigned to single-family homes but condominiums have condo association fees anywhere from $200 a month up to $2000 a month based on amenities and location.
